AOMORI is an illustration featuring the many famous concepts and motifs of Aomori prefecture in northern Japan, where I lived and worked for 6 years as an assistant language teacher on the JET Programme. The illustration was initially made for the Aomori Prefectural Board of Education as a cover for the “Rough Guide to Aomori” for new Aomori JETs arriving in summer 2022. Alternate colorways have also been used for the CIR Tebiki, and the design has been reused in the years since.
